About This Job

Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening for a senior Atlassian Developer/Administrator at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Manage user permissions for tools according to the needs of projects and teams

• Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility

• Maintain Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and users while working in the latest Jira environment

• Configure and maintain multiple Jira projects, workflows, schemes, settings, users and reports

• Document standards, guidelines and standard operating procedures for admins/users of the system

• Collaborate with Scrum teams to define requirements, design solutions, and test implementations

• Work with Jira filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and Jira administration

• Improve Jira security; set access permissions for Jira projects and Confluence spaces

• Ability to construct custom dashboards using various filter types in Jira

• Provide training to technical and non-technical teams to use Atlassian tools

• Apply in-depth knowledge and experience in day-to-day Jira administration functionality

• Ad-Hoc report creation and distribution

• Work with internal and external organizations to support various customer user-level requirements, including resolving elevated end-user support requests, and researching and deploying advanced technologies

• Business process analysis and system requirements development

• Implement approved system security policies to include the configuration of user access and permission across a variety of systems

• Monitor application status; support application event triage, monitoring, tracking, and correlation and event characterization and escalation

• Work with vendors as needed for event resolution

• Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved

• Provide technical assistance, training and system documentation for users to promote efficient operation of applications

• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required degree and years of relevant experience for this position are as follows:

• High School Diploma and 14 years of relevant experience, or

• BS/BA Degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or

• MS/MA Degree and 8 years of relevant experience

The successful applicant will be able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative, and possess the ability to organize daily tasks with minimal supervision while demonstrating the following:

• Experience supporting and customizing Jira to meet the needs of diverse groups of users

• Experience with administering and developing software team solutions on Atlassian tools, especially Jira and Confluence

• Advanced understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, screen schemes, etc.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment

• Experience designing content management and data taxonomies

• Experience setting and managing user permissions

• Experience with troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution

• Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, various levels of management, and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience

• Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals

• A fast learner with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn technologies and understand unique system requirements

• Excellent customer service skills

Clearance Requirement

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferred skills include experience with any of the following:

• DoW 8570 - IAT Level II certification on hire date

• 7 years of experience supporting and customizing Jira to meet the needs of diverse groups of users

• Quality Assurance

• Prior experience training, coaching and working directly with end users

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $120874 - $205486

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
