Job Summary

The Undergraduate Program Coordinator acts as a primary contact and coordinator for all aspects of undergraduate coursework in the Chemistry Department and works in collaboration with the Undergraduate Program faculty and staff.

Responsibilities*

45% Undergraduate Academic Advising:

  • Act as primary departmental academic advisor for Chemistry undergraduate students

  • Triage advising email and respond as appropriate

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Chemistry ADP/ SUGS MS program

35% Undergraduate Development, Outreach and Programming:

  • Lead Undergraduate events and programming for undergraduate student enrichment, including evaluating and expanding the impact of current offerings

  • Market and advertise Chemistry majors and minors and serve as a representative of the Chemistry Department across campus.

  • Act as the lead advisor for undergraduate student involvement in the department

20% Undergraduate Program Support:

  • Maintain all aspects of major course waitlist process, including monitoring waitlists, opening sections as needed and issue overrides

  • Collect research descriptions for independent research courses and coordinate approval and registration for independent study courses

  • Triage email and respond as appropriate for shared Undergraduate email inbox

  • Support and attend Undergraduate Committee meetings for advising, curriculum and awards

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate's Degree or a combination of education and experience.

  • 3-5 years experience working with students in an academic setting.

  • At least 2 years of professional non-student experience in an administrative setting.

  • Must have high-level proficiency, speed and accuracy with Excel, Word and Google suite.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, efficiently, and productively with a diverse group of students, staff and faculty.

  • Superior interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to set priorities, exercise initiative, work on multiple projects, and meet/negotiate deadlines.

Modes of Work

This position will be eligible for 1-2 days of remote work per week after an initial onboarding plan. This position will require flexibility to accommodate peak periods of program coordination and registration which may result in a handful of weeks with reduced availability for remote work.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $48,400 - $60,500; please note a higher salary may be offered based on equity and the selected candidate's experience. Salary is determined by direct relevant experience and demonstrated past performance results, while ensuring equity on our team.
