This role will perform hand calculations and finite element analysis to evaluate structural integrity, calculate factors of safety and margins, and verify that hardware meets performance and flight requirements. The analyst will take ownership of discrete analysis packages supporting payload and vehicle development, document results, and work with design, materials, manufacturing, test, and systems engineering teams to resolve structural concerns. We are open to mechanically minded recent graduates who are eager to learn, as well as experienced structural analysts who can independently own complex technical work. Experience with aerospace or spacecraft structures is preferred but not required.

This position is an initial 6-month contract with opportunity to extend. The hourly rate is based on experience, ranging from $48.50-72.50/hr. This is an onsite position, working a 9x80 schedule.

Advanced experience with structural analysis, hand calculations, and finite element methods. Ability to independently own discrete technical packages as the Responsible Engineer. Experience developing practical solutions to complex structural problems. Ability to guide junior analysts and provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines. Experience with Nastran, Femap, Ansys, Abaqus, or similar structural analysis software. Experience analyzing spacecraft, satellites, payloads, aircraft, launch vehicles, or other complex mechanical systems. Knowledge of metallic structures, composite materials, bonded joints, and aerospace material behavior. Experience with bond verification, joint analysis, fastener analysis, or interface load evaluation. Familiarity with fatigue, fracture mechanics, NASGRO, or AFGROW. Programming or automation experience using Python, MATLAB, or C++. Familiarity with relevant structural standards and analysis best practices.
