Salary Range: $25.00 To $33.50 Hourly

OrthoNY is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team, specializing in casting and durable medical equipment (DME) while also supporting various patient care tasks. In this role, you will assist physicians with patient care by applying casts, performing dressing changes, and managing DME applications.

Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

General Description

The LPN will play a key role in supporting our physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patient care by perform casting and dura ble medical equipment as well as clinical tasks related to patient care under the supervision of a physician as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed;

  • Reporting relevant information to the provider;

  • A ssisting the provider with patient care as requested;

  • Performing scribe duties, as needed;

  • Reviewing treatment procedures with patients;

  • Assisting in ordering tests/retr ieving results;

  • Reviewing discharge instructions;

  • Cast application, specialty cast, minor reductions/molding/suture/Staple removal and dressing changes;

  • Prepares injections, obtains cultures as ordered/needed;

  • Dispense Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to patients, application of DME, custom brace measurements, and, in some cases, ordering of DME inventory;

  • Verifying patient information; recording medical history and reporting to physician;

  • Demonstrate complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system;

  • Maintain and safeguard all patient records as indicated and required by the policies of the practice and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA);

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;

  • Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS required;

  • 1- 3 years of recent experience preferred;

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred;

  • CPR certification preferred

  • Travel between offices as needed, reliable transportation is required
