Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Plate Group is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Material Specialist. Principal duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

  • Identify what is needed from Plate Group Divisions to be supplier approved.

  • Own coordination between divisions and suppliers to help with smooth communication and execution.

  • Bridge commercial, quality, and operations gaps around supplier requirements.

  • Specialize in Armor initially but could expand to other plate group supplier approvals such as wind and API.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field

  • 3+ years in supplier quality

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Defense supplier qualification experience

  • Wind & API qualification experience
