Full job description
R&D Technician Description - Job Summary As a R&D Technician, you will primarily working with a team of Chemists, Engineers and other Technicians to support the execution of dispersion formulation, ink development, material characterization, and scale-up activities. You will be responsible for preparing formulations, operating laboratory equipment, troubleshooting, conducting experiments, collecting and documenting data, and maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
The role supports new product development, technology evaluations, process improvement initiatives, and manufacturing readiness activities from laboratory scale through pilot-scale demonstrations. You will work closely with R&D chemists and cross-functional partners to ensure timely and high-quality execution of development programs.
Responsibilities

Working knowledge of the theory and operation of simple analytical testing (pH, conductivity, viscosity, etc.) and/or routine chemical formulation procedures.

Basic knowledge of the theory and operation of more complex analytical instrumentation (particle size, particle counts, etc.)

Basic knowledge of general chemistry and/or materials analysis theory.

Thorough knowledge of routine chemical laboratory procedures, equipment, chemical nomenclature.

Working with large fluid containers using a pallet jack/forklift. (some lifting of containers required)

Ability to perform basic, non- standard lab practices (filtration etc.).

Ability to set up and conduct simple experiments

Ability to properly use a lab notebook.

Ability to perform non routine work following clear directions.

Ability to discuss simple theoretical concepts.

Ability to perform chemical formulations.

Ability to understand and interpret the periodic table.
Education
- Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
-
Typically 1-2+ years of laboratory, formulation, manufacturing, or product development experience in chemical, materials, coatings, inks, plastics, specialty chemicals, or related industries.

Fresh graduates with strong laboratory experience may also be considered.

Commitment to perform the job according to work instructions and procedures.

Ability to work efficiently and handle workload and schedule pressures.
-
Possesses a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience
-
Candidates currently working in chemical labs will have advantageous.
-
Familiarity with formulation preparation, sample evaluation, and experimental execution.

Experience with laboratory documentation and data recording systems.
-
Knowledge in Microsoft office applications.

Knowledge on ink chemistry and ink mixing.
-
Experience with PPE usage.
