Job Description
The Cable Placement Technician is responsible for installing, routing, and dressing fiber optic and copper cabling in industrial and construction environments. This role supports network infrastructure deployments by pulling structured cabling through trays, conduits, and pathways while ensuring adherence to fiber handling standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Pull and dress fiber optic and Cat6A cabling throughout industrial and construction sites.
- Install OS2 fiber trunks, OSP loose-tube fiber, and copper cabling for cameras, WAPs, IoT devices, and network drops.
- Route cabling through ladder trays, basket trays, and conduit systems using fish tape, glow rods, and other pathway tools.
- Maintain proper fiber bend radius, pull tension, cable protection, and slack management standards.
- Secure and organize cabling using approved fiber handling methods and materials.
- Support cable labeling, pathway documentation, and quality assurance activities.
- Operate scissor lifts and boom lifts to access elevated cable pathways. Follow all site safety requirements and work effectively on day or night shifts as needed.
Skills and Requirements

Fiber optic cable installation experience (pulling cable through trays, conduit, and pathway systems)

Strong understanding of fiber handling standards (bend radius, pull tension, slack management). Active certification and experience operating scissor lifts (need them to have a certificate or proof)

Strong experience with structured cabling Experience in a non-traditional environment
