Job Description
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to support a portfolio of electrical, mechanical, and civil construction projects within an industrial/power generation environment. This individual will serve as the central communication hub between project managers, contractors, vendors, and plant personnel to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site requirements. The Project Coordinator will assist with project tracking, safety oversight, permit management, labor and material coordination, and daily construction activities while helping maintain a strong safety-first culture on site.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Coordinate daily activities between project managers, contractors, vendors, and plant personnel.

Attend and document construction, scheduling, and project progress meetings.

Conduct and participate in daily job safety briefings and toolbox talks.

Assist with safety inspections, hazard identification, and enforcement of site safety requirements.

Monitor work activities and support stop-work actions when unsafe conditions are identified.

Track project labor, equipment, materials, and contractor productivity.

Maintain and manage construction permits and related project documentation.

Coordinate deliveries, vendor access, and material staging activities.

Support project schedules by helping resolve field issues and communication gaps.

Review project drawings, specifications, and P&IDs to support project execution.

Ensure project documentation is current, organized, and compliant with company standards.

Skills and Requirements

3-10 years of hands-on construction experience supporting industrial, utility, power, or manufacturing projects.

Experience coordinating field activities involving multiple contractors and stakeholders.

Strong understanding of construction safety practices and jobsite hazard recognition.

Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
-
Experience supporting electrical, mechanical, and/or civil construction projects.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in an active construction environment and manage multiple priorities. • Previous experience supporting projects within the power generation, utility, transmission, or energy industry.

Familiarity with relay upgrade projects, electrical infrastructure improvements, or substation work.

Experience supporting gas pipeline, mechanical system, or process infrastructure projects.

Experience coordinating building construction, facility renovations, or civil infrastructure projects.
-
Knowledge of permitting processes, contractor management, and project controls.
-
OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other construction safety certifications.
-
Experience working in industrial plants, power plants, refineries, or similar operating facilities.
