TS/SCI Software Engineer

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer/Data Analyst to join a mission-focused team supporting advanced analytics modernization efforts. This individual must possess an active TS/SCI clearance and will be responsible for modernizing and migrating analytics applications into high-performance web-based solutions utilizing modern development technologies. Periodic travel to Patrick Space Force Base may be required.

The ideal candidate will have strong full stack development experience and be comfortable working across front-end, back-end, cloud, and data environments. This individual will collaborate closely with system engineers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and mission stakeholders to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities include building modern user-facing interfaces, developing secure and scalable APIs and backend services, integrating databases and cloud-native technologies, and deploying solutions within AWS environments. Candidates should have experience implementing software engineering best practices such as code reviews, automated testing, source control management, and CI/CD pipelines.

This role requires regular customer interaction to gather requirements, refine application functionality, and deliver technical solutions aligned with mission objectives. Additional responsibilities include creating architectural designs, developing technical roadmaps, maintaining system documentation, and delivering presentations and technical briefings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Candidates with experience supporting classified DoD environments, AI/ML-enabled applications, advanced analytics platforms, DevSecOps methodologies, containerization technologies, and Infrastructure as Code tools will be highly desired.

Skills and Requirements

Active TS/SCI Clearance

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR 8+ years of experience in lieu of degree

Full stack development experience

Experience with modern front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS)

Experience developing back-end services and APIs (Java, Python, Node.js, .NET, or similar)

AWS cloud experience

Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, or other relational/non-relational databases

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices

Ability to obtain Security+ or DoD IAT Level II Certification within 6 months if not currently certified AI/ML application development experience

Experience with scientific, sensor-derived, geophysical, acoustic, seismic, or infrasonic data

Experience in classified DoD mission environments

Familiarity with C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments

Docker and Kubernetes experience

Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Experience transitioning prototype or research capabilities into operational software tools

Experience building applications in high-security or classified environments

Experience with microservices and RESTful APIs
