Full job description

Job Duties

North Star Mutual Insurance Company seeks an individual to investigate property and casualty claims, and complete underwriting inspections. Work is primarily in an assigned Minnesota territory, but may include travel to work catastrophe claims. To efficiently and effectively complete the required duties it is important that the applicant live in Chisago, Kanabec, Isanti, or Pine County.

Applicants must be able to follow direction, assist other staff members, be a self-starter, be able to think and work on their own. The ability to document and manage first and third-party claim files, conduct recorded statements, negotiate settlements, estimate damages, and prepare detailed reports in compliance with state law and company policy fall within this job description.

A representative of the company needs to appear and conduct themselves professionally while maintaining rapport with our policyholders and Agent partners. This individual needs to possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

The duties include physically demanding activities (including climbing) and periodic travel outside of the assigned territory.

$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 / Annually

Additional Compensation

While a variety of factors, including but not limited to job related knowledge, skillset, level of education and/or experience will be taken into consideration, it is anticipated this position will start at $60,000.00 per year. This role may be eligible for a merit increase annually and is eligible for our profit-sharing bonus plan.

Starting Range $60,000 to $65,000 annually.
