School Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support the overnight operations of a comprehensive student health center located on a premier boarding school campus in Exeter, NH. This health center functions similarly to a small hospital and provides urgent care, inpatient observation, chronic disease management, behavioral health support, and 24/7 nursing services to approximately 1,200 high school students from across the United States and around the world.

The ideal candidate is a confident, independent nurse who thrives in acute care environments and is comfortable making clinical decisions overnight with physician support available on-call.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight nursing care for students requiring inpatient observation and treatment
• Assess, triage, and manage walk-in health concerns and urgent medical needs
• Monitor and care for students admitted to the health center's inpatient unit
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, counselors, and support staff to coordinate care
• Respond to acute illnesses, injuries, and behavioral health concerns
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes
• Support students managing chronic medical conditions while attending school
• Escalate emergencies appropriately and coordinate hospital transfers when necessary.

Skills and Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience

• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills

• Experience working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment

• Current BLS certification

• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings. (Hep B, COVID vaccine)

• Emergency Department (ED) experience ICU, Critical Care, or NICU experience

• Urgent Care experience

• Experience caring for adolescent populations

• Experience managing chronic conditions and behavioral health concerns
