Employment Type: Full timeShift: Rotating Shift Description: Saint Alphonsus Health System, recognized by Forbes as one of America's Best-In-State Employers for 2026, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join us as we establish our Vascular Access Team at our Level II Trauma Center in Boise, Idaho. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse who is passionate about helping build and shape a specialized program. This position will be located at our Regional Medical Center off I-184 and Curtis Rd.

Why this role is for you: You are an experienced nurse looking for an opportunity to make an immediate and meaningful impact across a Level II Trauma Center and Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center. You are excited about working in a collaborative, high-acuity environment and are passionate about using your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and specialized skills to improve patient outcomes.

As a member of our Vascular Access Team, you'll provide specialized vascular access services, including the assessment, insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vascular access devices (VADs), such as PICC lines, midlines, and peripheral IVs using ultrasound guidance. You'll partner with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care while serving as a trusted resource for staff education and patient teaching related to vascular access.

What You’ll Do:

  • Demonstrate SAHS Mission, Vision, and Values in all interactions.

  • Perform comprehensive vascular access assessments and select appropriate devices based on patient needs.

  • Insert and maintain vascular access devices using aseptic techniques and ultrasound guidance.

  • Educate patients and families on device care and infection prevention.

  • Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff regarding vascular access best practices.

  • Document all procedures and patient education accurately in the electronic health record.

  • Monitor for complications and initiate interventions as needed.

  • Comply with hospital safety policies and infection control standards.

  • Practice within the Idaho State Board of Nursing regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed in the State of Idaho as a Registered Nurse as defined by the Idaho State Board of Nursing.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.

  • Vascular Access certification (VA-BC) is preferred or willingness to obtain within designated timeframe.

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required; prior vascular access experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of ultrasound-guided insertion techniques and infection prevention standards.
