Novant Health is hiring a Supervisor, Patient Financial Services

The Supervisor, Patient Financial Services is responsible for providing department leadership and daily support to maintain ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency levels in the business office with continued focus on improvement of departmental planning, processes, training, trend analysis and evaluation of performance. This individual will continue to be a steward of Novant’s vision to create the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, and understand how the Patient Financial Services department contributes to this vision. The Supervisor, Patient Financial Services will identify and communicate issues, backlogs, or opportunities that will directly impact revenue and patient satisfaction and portray strong leadership and motivational skills to guide the team to optimal performance.

  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

  • Understands and can apply knowledge of decision support applications, data source systems and operational procedures and appropriate internal controls.

  • Human relations and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with management, team members and administration.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Word and Excel

  • Ability to effectively train new and existing team members

  • Ability to design, analyze and implement processes surrounding billing, third party relationships, compliance, collections, and other financial functions to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Corporate finance / account reconciliation experience highly preferred

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Two years of Revenue Cycle, customer service or related experience, required.

  • Three years of Revenue Cycle, customer service or related experience, preferred.

  • One year of Leadership experience, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification: Coding Certification - CPC, RHIT or RHIA, preferred.

  • Additional Skills Required:

  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

  • Understands and can apply knowledge of decision support applications, data source systems and operational procedures and appropriate internal controls.

  • Operationally understand and navigate the Epic system.

  • Coding knowledge (CPT, HCPCS, ICD10).

  • Medical Terminology.

  • Knowledge of Billing Guidelines, Payor Guidelines and CCI Edits.

Corporate finance experience highly preferred
