AI Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a skilled AI Engineer to support one of our clients in the government sector. The AI Engineer will design, develop, and deploy intelligent applications that leverage modern AI technologies, large language models, and cloud-based data platforms to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions. This individual will build and enhance AI-powered applications across the full technology stack, including responsive user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. Responsibilities include integrating LLMs and machine learning capabilities into customer-facing tools, developing chat-based data interaction platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement cloud-based AI solutions, rapidly prototyping new capabilities, supporting DevOps and release management processes, and maintaining technical documentation throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess strong Python development skills, experience with modern AI frameworks and Azure AI services, and a proven ability to deliver end-to-end AI solutions in enterprise environments.

Skills and Requirements

• A minimum of seven years of experience in software development, including at least two years focused on AI/ML technologies and over four years of hands-on expertise with Python.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and React.js, with a strong background in backend services and data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and data protection best practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI frameworks and models (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI APIs)..
• Familiarity with LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval systems.
• Programmatic Integration with Microsoft 365 Using Graph API and Entra ID Authentication
• Knowledge of data visualization libraries and dashboarding tools.
• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools including Jenkins and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of database and data engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration and server development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
