About the Role: Rakuten Viki is seeking a passionate Intern, Content Acquisition & Partnerships. This role will be supporting our Content Team in China to maintain and grow Rakuten Viki’s content partnerships in Greater China & other Asian countries and to liaise with other teams internally and partners externally. This role will be based in Shanghai and report to the Director, Content Acquisition & Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect local content line-up and conduct content review (including dramas, movies, variety shows, animation, etc.)

• Conduct business reports, content data analysis and various market researches, and translate insights behind data variation to support content acquisition decisions

• Liaison with content partners (i.e. key OTT platforms, studios and distributors) in Greater China and internal cross-functional teams in SG, KR and US to support smooth content launches and effective marketing practices

• Assist China Team in market events preparation and other routine works

Required Qualifications:

• Fluent in English and Chinese.

• Proficient in MS Office software, especially for PowerPoint and Excel, and proficient in G-suite is a plus

• Proven logical thinking ability and basic data analysis skills; Proven creative thinking skills

• Good at teamwork and effective communication skills in a cross-cultural work environment

• Quick learner with strong self-motivation ability, patience and great attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment

• Passion about Internet and digital media industry, familiarity with and/or enthusiasm for Asian entertainment (especially for dramas) is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in Shanghai

• Majors in Media & Communication, Advertising, Marketing, International Business, English, Data Science, or related fields is preferred

• Able to commit for at least 3-4 days per week, for minimum period of 4 - 6 months
