Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Orlando, Florida. This opportunity is ideal for a detail oriented individual who can manage close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure account balances are properly supported. The role requires strong ownership of ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely completion of financial reporting tasks.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through detailed review of transactions, account activity, and supporting documentation.

• Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy, appropriate backup, and alignment to accounting standards and internal policies.

• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.

• Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, identifying variances, and following through on reconciling differences.

• Analyze financial data to identify unusual trends, inconsistencies, or errors and recommend corrective action when needed.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather accounting support, clarify transactions, and improve reporting accuracy.

• Assist with audit requests and provide organized documentation related to close processes, reconciliations, and ledger activity. Requirements • Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with hands-on responsibility for month-end close activities.

• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the flow of financial transactions across accounts.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Experience performing detailed account reconciliations and resolving variances efficiently.

• Practical experience completing bank reconciliations and researching unmatched transactions.

• Solid analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a structured accounting environment.

• Proficiency using accounting systems and spreadsheet tools to support reporting and reconciliation work.
