Departmental Technician 7-E9 - Employee Licensing

This position works 100% at the assigned work location and does not have a remote option.• This position is Limited Term in place for one year located in Grand Rapids, MI.

• Training will take place in Detroit for two-months, lodging is included.
• Interviews will be held at the Grand Rapids location.
• Initial work schedule consists of 4 10-hour shifts to allow for long weekends.

The Employee Licensing Departmental Technician will review and evaluate various confidential documents submitted for licensure to determine conformity to the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act as amended, the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Lawful Sports Betting Act and associated administrative rules; verify fees with documents; prepare supplier lists, reports, and correspondence; consult with applicants concerning the requirements for filing and uniformity of the documents; and monitor and review various materials required from casino suppliers and vendors.

Experience Departmental Technician 7 One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service. Departmental Technician 8 One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service. OR One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service. Departmental Technician E9 One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.

The Board also conducts a personal reference screening, criminal background check, drug testing and federal and state tax transcript, including fingerprinting candidates prior to a conditional offer of employment. A reference check from a current or previous supervisor is required, please include this information on your application.

Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test which must be administered within 24 hours of a conditional offer or the offer may be rescinded. It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient sample within the allotted time. In accordance with Civil Service Regulation 2.07, an individual may be sanctioned from applying to State of Michigan vacancies, permanently or up to (3) three years, should you fail to pass/submit to the pre-employment drug test. Under Civil Service Regulation 3.06, you may be sanctioned from applying to positions with the State of Michigan, if you make any false statements or omissions of a material fact during the selection process.
