Full job description

Job Description

  • Oversee installation quality on Google data center projects
  • Inspect structured cabling, fiber, pathways, and infrastructure installations
  • Identify quality issues and construction constraints before they impact schedule
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams
  • Participate in contractor and project meetings
  • Ensure adherence to IES quality standards and gating processes
  • Sign off on completed work areas before construction progresses
  • Help train and develop field personnel
  • Monitor project progress, documentation, and compliance efforts

Skills and Requirements

  • 10-15+ years in structured cabling/telecommunications infrastructure
  • Fiber installation, splicing, testing, and termination experience
  • Data center, mission critical, or large commercial infrastructure experience
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows and quality processes
  • Ability to read project schedules and understand project coordination
  • Self-motivated, mature communicator
  • Able to walk job sites extensively and work in active construction environments (10,000+ steps per day)
  • Low-voltage code and installation knowledge
  • Previous Project Manager experience
  • Google data center experience
  • Microsoft data center experience
  • Quality management/quality assurance background
  • Electrical or low-voltage electrical experience
  • Experience training and mentoring younger technicians
  • Familiarity with Gantt charts and construction scheduling
