Full job description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Gaming Commission Auditor 1 monitors and verifies gaming compliance with established policies and procedures, as well as Federal, State, and Tribal regulations for designated Class II and Class III gaming facilities, as required by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
Primary Tasks:

Performs departmental audits for Choctaw Casinos to ensure regulatory compliance required by MICS or as directed by management. Prepares audit documentation and reports detailing findings and recommended corrective actions. Conducts follow-up audits to verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective measures, as required by MICS.

Reviews and approves gaming promotions as required by MICS.

Reviews and either accepts or denies any submitted changes to an individual’s established electronic scan access control rights.

Reviews and ultimately approves policies, procedures, guidances, forms, and logs prior to implementation to ensure efficiency, sufficiency, and compatibility with all other Federal, State, and Tribal gaming regulations.

Protects confidentiality and integrity of all records, data, and sensitive information.

Determines the effectiveness of current systems, recommends placement or updates of internal controls, and provides guidance to assist with achieving compliance.

Utilizes data mining techniques to identify questionable transactions and signs of fraud or theft, performs investigations and inquiries into possible theft or fraud.

Reviews operational variances and policy or procedure violations to identify patterns, suspicious activity, or recurring issues.

Reviews notifications for any chips that are to be ordered, transferred/exchanged, or destroyed for discrepancies in receipt, inventory, storage, transfer, or destruction.

Develops, revises, and otherwise maintains the Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS) required by MICS.

Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field,
-
OR four (4) years of directly related experience in gaming or auditing in lieu of education,

OR a combination of education and experience

Ability to obtain and maintain a key gaming license

Proficient with computers and the Microsoft Office Suite

General experience with data mining, audits, data analysis, pattern analysis, and/or generating detailed reports
-
General knowledge and experience with Federal, State, and Tribal gaming regulations that govern Tribal Gaming
