Electrical CAD Technician

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise electrical and utility-related drawings using CAD software.

  • Assist engineers and designers in creating high-quality design packages, construction drawings, and project documentation.

  • Prepare and update permit, plot, and technical drawings based on project requirements.

  • Ensure all drafting work complies with company, client, and industry standards.

  • Support distribution, utility, and power delivery projects from concept through design.

  • Research design challenges and collaborate with project teams to develop effective solutions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting processes and standards.

  • Maintain accuracy, quality, and attention to detail across all project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Civil 3D, utility design, distribution systems, or power delivery projects.

  • Ability to create and revise plot plans and technical drawings.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • Associate degree in Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

  • CAD certification and experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation are a plus.

  • Self-starter with a desire to learn, grow, and build a long-term career within the engineering industry.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
