CORE JOB SUMMARYThe EEG Technician - PRN operates specialized equipment which measures and records electrical activity of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and spinal cord. Further, the incumbent participates in the analysis and diagnosis of disorders in the brain and nervous system, such as brain tumors, sleep disorders, strokes, and epilepsy.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS1. Performs EEG tests when requested by physicians.2. Reviews patient records and interviews patients to obtain additional information.3. Prepares patients for procedure by attaching monitoring devices and explaining test procedures.4. Sets up and calibrates necessary equipment.5. During testing, monitors patient’s status and records observations.6. Analyzes test data to ensure appropriate data is collected.7. Reports test results to physicians for further analysis.8. Maintains laboratory equipment, ensures room is clean, and institutes quality control procedures.9. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs minor repairs.10.
