Job Description:
Highland Hospital, regional leader in specialties such as bariatric surgery, total joint replacement, geriatric care, gynecologic oncology, prostate cancer treatment, women's health services, and maternity, has an exciting opportunity for a talented Clinical Dietitian to join our comprehensive Clinical Nutrition Services team in Rochester, NY on a part-time basis. Candidates for this role would need to be available to work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays. (8a - 4:30p) Start times are flexible but realistically would need someone to be present by 8:30am. Candidates for this role will also be a part of a minimal weekend rotation which consists of working every 5th or 6th Saturday (would get the Wednesday of that week off in its place). On Call requirements (triage) would consist of 2 holidays per year.

Position Highlights include:

Provides comprehensive nutrition care (MNT) and education for patients on a variety of units including surgery, medical, oncology and progressive care.

Develops nutrition care plan to address nutrition problem identified. Plan could include nutrition support (Total parenteral nutrition and/or tube feeding), as well as discharge planning.

Cross coverage on all inpatient units (including ICU) when working weekend and covering other team members day’s off

Completes nutrition focused physical exams as part of diagnosing malnutrition using adopted ASPEN/AND criteria

Documentation of all nutrition care done in electronic medical record (EPIC)

Order, discontinue or modify nutrition orders per Order Writing policy.

Mentorship and teamwork from a strong and supportive group of dietitians.
Salary Range:
$28.50 - $35.00 hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Education: Fulfills the requirements to be a Registered Dietitian in NYS or (Registration Eligible) through the commission of dietetics registration (CDR) .

Experience (minimum required): One year of experience in a health care facility preferred.

License/Certification Required: Registration eligible (must become registered within 6 months of hire) or Registered Dietitian as recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
