Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking a highly motivated Intern/Co-op to join our team for the spring/summer. This role supports the development of high-quality steel products through data analysis, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration. [[cust_safetyState]]

Key Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze mechanical testing and chemical composition data

• Verify material compliance with customer/major society specifications

• Assist in metallographic preparation and analysis

• Organize and maintain technical documentation

• Support problem-solving efforts throughout steel production processes

• Communicate effectively with teams across the mill

• Uphold and promote Nucor's safety standards and practices

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate or non-thesis graduate program

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills

• Interest in metallurgy and materials science

• Experience with computer science, coding languages, SPC, and Microsoft Office

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Metallography and laboratory experience
