Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Thorough knowledge of application and practices for large central steam and chilled water distribution systems, and HVAC mechanical systems.- Working knowledge of high voltage systems and equipment, working knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) energy management systems.- Must have the ability to write and interpret complex technical plans and reports; to communicate verbally and in writing and communicate effectively with management and other professionals.- Demonstrated organizational, planning, and scheduling skills; Problem solving skills; Teambuilding skills and customer service skills.- Ability to multitask and manage multiple and complex duties concurrently.- Prioritize work activities in alignment with the department's goals.- Ability to meet time restrictions work within specific resource limitations.- Assess training needs of employees with regards to energy best practices.- Ability to make fact-based decisions, to project a positive university image which encourages high morale and promotes confidence.
Preferred Qualifications- High school diploma and 10 years professional experience in a specialized trades area; or in diversified building or vehicle maintenance, or construction activity.- Supervisory experience must be in an energy related field or business.
