Medical Insurance Verification Specialist I

Job Duties

Navigate hospital systems remotely to investigate account status

Request and obtain eligibility documentation of patient's coverage via web, phone calls or written requests

Update accounts to appropriate status based on information found in the hospital system and account protocols

Minimum Education Required

Required Education: High School Diploma

Preferred Experience: Medical office experience in registration and/or patient account systems.

Minimum Experience Required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Understanding of medical insurance payers

Understanding of medical billing rules and practices

Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment balancing speed and accuracy

Required Qualification

Ability to obtain a professional certification, such as CRCS-I or CPAR during first year of employment (study materials and test provided)
