Summary About the Position: Pine Bluff Arsenal (PBA) stands as a crucial component of America's defense infrastructure, embodying the precision, reliability, and ingenuity that our joint warfighters depend on. PBA reflects a steadfast commitment to ensuring our forces are equipped with the cutting-edge tools and resources needed to dominate on the modern battlefield. PBA was temporarily managed by the Chemical and Biological Defense Command but transferred under the Joint Munitions Command in 2007. Responsibilities Manages maintenance for new/existing equipment and engineering changes. Manages data for tools, spare parts, and components. Supports maintenance planning and budget inputs. Prepares Justification and approval documents for instrumentation and control hardware. Reviews specialized equipment and electrical design features. Troubleshoots issues across multiple production lines. Recommends equipment modifications and user training. Maintains and updates Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems Evaluates technical factors to select effective maintenance actions. Approves repairs and engineering modifications. Acts quickly during uncertain situations to maintain production. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) resolving production line issues to ensure continuous operational performance; 2) managing maintenance activities of all equipment systems; AND 3) providing technical support for programmable Logic Controller installation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must confirm eligibility and minimum qualification requirements within 30 calendar days of the closing date of the announcement. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) 17 Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. May require overtime work. Situational Telework may be authorized by Supervisor on a case by case basis. All selections under an announcement must be made within 3 months from the issuance date of the certificate referral list. Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) will not be authorized. Relocation/Retention Incentive will not be authorized. Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
