Full job description

Job Summary and Qualifications

Efficiently, accurately and quickly identifies, profiles, charges, credits, prepares and dispenses medication orders, thoroughly checks work of technicians, makes rounds and maintains orderly work flow.

· Maintains appropriate records

· Efficiently and accurately identifies and successfully acts upon opportunities for interventions, performs correct renal dose adjustments, performs kinetic dosing and monitoring per protocol, makes correct drug recommendations and provides correct drug information as needed.

· Complies with facility policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements

· Maintains medication safety procedures and processes

· Performs order entry and problem solves medication discrepancies and reconciliation

· Participates in staff and patient education regarding medications. Acts as a resource person in this area.

· Orders medications from wholesaler or outside pharmacies.

· Performs drug use evaluations and reports findings and interventions as required/requested.

· Identifies and responds to adverse drug reactions. Reports findings and interventions as required/requested

· The staff pharmacist interacts with other members of the health care team in a manner which encourages quality patient care, harmonious working relationships, positive customer relations and enhances the image/reputation of the facility

· Performs other duties as requested or required

· Employee demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct

· Employee’s conduct reflects the Company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct

· Supervision of technical staff

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Pharmacist

  • Bachelors Degree
