Registered Nurse (RN) –Chico,CA

Travel Package:

Travel Rate (based on 36 hours): Hourly $73.10 Stipend (Lodging $770.00 + M&I $476.00) = $1,246.00

Total Comp: $3,877.60

Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 50+ miles from the facility to qualify for Travel Pay.

Shift Details:

  • 8- or 10-hour shifts, Days with 0630 start time.

  • Alternating Weekends

  • 40 hours per week

Nursing Specialty: Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)

RNFA Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons during procedures by providing direct support with surgical instruments, equipment, and patient positioning.

  • Perform preoperative and postoperative patient assessments and provide appropriate nursing care.

  • Maintain a safe, sterile surgical environment and follow infection prevention and surgical safety protocols.

  • Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the procedure and communicate any changes to the surgical team.

  • Assist with wound care, closure, hemostasis, and other surgical tasks within the RN’s scope of practice.

  • Document patient care, procedures, and outcomes accurately and collaborate with the surgical and healthcare team.

  • The Registered Nurse First Assistant is a licensed professional who renders direct patient care as a part of the perioperative role by functioning as a first assistant to the surgeon.

  • The RNFA practices an expanded role of perioperative nursing and has acquired knowledge, skills and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon through organized instruction and supervised practice.

  • The RNFA practices under the supervision of the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor and Delivery Suite as a First Assistant.

**Minimum Qualifications **

  • Active CA State Registered Nurse License

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

  • Minimum of one (1) year related work experience within the last 3 years

  • Valid BLS / ACLS / CPR

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)

  • Additional certifications may be required

  • Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
