Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Manager
Job Description
Join a growing manufacturing facility in Suffield, CT as a Facilities Maintenance Manager, leading a team of five maintenance technicians and overseeing all aspects of facility and equipment upkeep. You will plan and manage preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs, work closely with vendors and subcontractors, and ensure that all building systems and production equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and manage a team of five maintenance workers in a manufacturing facility, ensuring effective coordination and high-quality work.

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems, production equipment, and infrastructure.

Prioritize maintenance issues based on safety, production impact, and urgency, ensuring timely resolution of equipment and facility problems.

Support the maintenance team when machines are down by providing direction, resources, and technical guidance to restore equipment to operation quickly.

Order necessary parts and supplies, and ensure the tools and parts crib remain well-stocked and organized to minimize downtime.

Oversee ongoing maintenance and facility projects, including upgrades and repairs, and plan for future facility and equipment needs.

Manage all aspects of the facility within four walls, including walls, roof, and floors, ensuring the building remains safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Coordinate and oversee third-party subcontractors performing work on-site, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to schedules and budgets.

Utilize knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, and related systems to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

Leverage experience with PLCs, robotics, motors, relays, and other automation components to assist with diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.

Apply MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) knowledge to evaluate facility needs and guide maintenance and improvement projects.

Use Microsoft Office tools to create, track, and update preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and maintenance documentation.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand production and facility requirements and align maintenance activities with operational priorities.

Monitor facility conditions and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
Essential Skills

Proven experience in facilities maintenance or facility management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination of repairs.

Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills for facility and equipment systems.
-
Practical plumbing experience in a commercial or industrial setting.

Mechanical aptitude, including repair and maintenance of machinery and facility equipment.
-
Experience creating and managing preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
-
Vendor management experience, including coordinating and overseeing third-party contractors and service providers.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.

Ability to prioritize maintenance tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing parts, tools, and maintenance records.

Effective leadership skills to manage and support a team of maintenance workers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with PLCs, robotics, motors, relays, and automated equipment.

Knowledge of pneumatic systems and their maintenance.

Exposure to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems beyond basic maintenance, such as system upgrades or redesigns.

Understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) concepts and how they apply to facility operations.

Experience in facilities repair and maintenance within a clean manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with project oversight, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating resources.

Comfort working with a wide range of building systems, including roof, walls, and flooring.

Work Environment
This role is based on-site at a clean manufacturing facility in Suffield, CT. You will work in and around production areas, facility systems, and building infrastructure, regularly interacting with machinery, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. The position involves coordinating with third-party subcontractors who perform work on the building and systems. Standard office tools such as Microsoft Office are used for planning and documentation, while the majority of time is spent in a hands-on, industrial environment. Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and maintenance setting is expected, with adherence to all safety and facility guidelines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffield, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $200.00 - $200.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
