Introduction

Your role and responsibilities

Senior Tax Specialist - Forecasting and Planning, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted):

  • Develop, test, implement, and run a forecasting model to estimate company’s short and long-term tax rates.

  • Conduct analysis of the impact of U.S. tax reform and Pillar 2 rules.

  • Ensure the model delivers real-time insights to support senior management decision-making.

  • Apply the model in both company’s external reporting and internal forecasting processes.

  • Monitor U.S. and international legislative and regulatory tax law developments on an ongoing basis.

  • Communicate model results effectively to the executive management team for use in internal and external quarterly and annual reporting.

  • Provide necessary documentation to support internal controls and external audits.

  • Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to assess the potential financial impacts of proposed tax legislation under varying economic conditions.

  • Support compliance with global tax initiatives, such as OECD Pillar Two and country-by-country reporting, by integrating U.S. tax considerations into broader international tax efforts.

  • Lead or participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses related to tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, or organizational changes.

  • Leverage AI driven analytics tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the US tax forecasting model, incorporating machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and trends in historical tax data.

  • Participate in internal training and development initiatives, helping to educate our tax team on evolving tax legislation and its implications for the organization.

  • Utilize: US GAAP accounting standards (ASC 740), Power Query and Power BI, OneSource Tax Provision, Tax Compliance Software (Corptax, OneSource), DB2 QMF for Workstation, IBM SPSS Statistics.

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related and five (5) years of experience as a Tax Analyst or related. Five (5) years of experience must include utilizing US GAAP accounting standards (ASC 740), Power Query and Power BI, OneSource Tax Provision, Tax Compliance Software (Corptax, OneSource), DB2 QMF for Workstation, IBM SPSS Statistics. $236971 to $286971 per year. Full time. AV225.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting,

  • Finance or related and five (5) years of experience as a Tax Analyst or related.

  • Five (5) years of experience must include utilizing US GAAP accounting standards (ASC 740), Power Query and Power BI, OneSource Tax Provision, Tax Compliance Software (Corptax, OneSource), DB2 QMF for Workstation, IBM SPSS Statistics.
