Position General Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for assisting with HR data entry, ensuring employee data is maintained accurately and confidentially. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with an HRIS system along with a basic understanding of employee payroll processes. Individual must possess strong organizational skills, and have a customer-service-oriented approach to supporting employees and leadership. This position also provides administrative support for the Human Resource Department as a whole, which consists of the day-to-day activities associated with the maintenance of Human Resources activities for Stockman Bank of Montana and its affiliates. Position requires approximately 20% travel. Employee is required to work in person at our Grand Ave branch location. This is not a remote position.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with and maintain the confidentiality of employee related sensitive information.

  • Strong communication both written and verbal.

  • Good interpersonal/team skills with ability to develop effective working relationships.

  • Must be able to work independently and to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Strong detail orientation and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Preferred:

  • 1 year Human Resources/Payroll experience or proven exposure.

  • Experience and knowledge of ADP Workforce Now or similar system.

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Competencies

Human Resource Information System Support:

  • Process Employee changes in ADP system, including adding new hires, pay adjustments, Job changes, deductions, direct deposit updates, etc.

  • Assist with setup and preparation of employee timecards and employee data on ADP.

  • Serve as a resource to supervisors and managers on timekeeping processes, assisting with timecard management, attendance tracking, and HR/payroll-related questions.

  • Respond to employee and supervisor questions with respect to the payroll and timekeeping.

  • Assist with reporting, audits, and record retention requirements.

HR Department Support:

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and communicating with applicants. Will attend job fairs in conjunction with Recruiting Officer.

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation processes.

  • Prepare and maintain employee personnel files and HR records on Director, ADP, and other programs as necessary.

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and HR programs.

  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications.

  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.

  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance activities.

  • Support training coordination and maintain training records.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

Other Support:

  • Support and assist in the daily operations of the Human Resources Department.

  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide administrative support related to HR programs, policies, benefits, and employee relations matters.

  • Prepare, proofread, and distribute HR documents, reports, presentations, correspondence, and training materials.

  • Manage departmental communications, answer phones, route inquiries, and provide excellent customer service to employees and applicants.

  • Order and maintain office supplies and process departmental requests.

  • Promote Stockman Bank's commitment to customer service, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Light cleaning of office space as needed.
