9490 Watson Rd, St. Louis, MO 63126, USA | SUPP Accounting | 100,000-120,000 per year | Full Time

| Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401k Match, Health, and Life Insurance

Strong accounting knowledge matters. How you lead matters just as much.

We're looking for an Accounting Manager who can step into the day-to-day work of an Accounting team, understand what's happening in the numbers, and keep things moving. Someone who knows when to dig in, when to coach, when to ask questions, and when something just doesn't look right.

This is a hands-on leadership role. Our Accounting Manager won't manage from the sidelines. You'll review the work, help solve accounting issues, support the close, develop the team, and partner with leaders across the business.

Just as important is how you do it. We want someone who is professional and respectful, stays calm when things get challenging, works collaboratively with Operations, and is comfortable saying, "I don't know, but I'll figure it out."

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day work of the Accounting team and keep priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities moving

  • Coach and develop accounting staff while setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability

  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting

  • Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency

  • Oversee core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Research discrepancies, troubleshoot accounting issues, and help the team find solutions

  • Maintain strong accounting practices, internal controls, and established standards

  • Partner with Operations and other departments to resolve issues and improve how work gets done

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes and create greater consistency across the Accounting team

  • Support system transitions, integrations, and other accounting projects as needed

Who We're Looking For

You're an experienced accountant who understands the technical side of the work and knows how to lead people through it.

You'll probably be a great fit if you:

  • Have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Have at least 2 years of experience managing accounting professionals

  • Have hands-on experience across accounting functions, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Understand the general ledger, accrual accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and the month-end close process

  • Have progressed in your accounting career and built a strong foundation through increasingly responsible work

  • Can maintain high standards without creating unnecessary friction

  • Know how to keep a team moving, even when priorities change or things get messy

  • Build productive relationships with both Accounting and Operations

  • Stay professional, respectful, and calm when navigating disagreement or conflict

  • Are willing to ask questions and seek out training when you don't know something

  • Bring energy, initiative, and follow-through to the work

Experience with job costing/WIP, project accounting, multiple locations, or accounting system transitions/integrations is a plus, but not required.

Sound Like You?

We're not looking for someone who checks every possible accounting box. We're looking for someone with a strong accounting foundation, real leadership experience, and the right approach to helping a team and an accounting function get better.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to talk.
