The Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOC) functions as an integral member of the patient care team by providing education and specialized direct nursing care to a specific population of patients with stomas, fistulas, pressure injury, drains, incontinence or other complex skin/wound impairments when consulted by providers and/or bedside nurse.

Education:

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing

License/Certification:

  • State of WI RN License

  • Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons

  • Begin process of WOC certification within 2 years of hire

Experience:

  • 2 years inpatient clinical experience

Other:

  • Master's in nursing preferred

  • Prior wound/ostomy experience

  • Epic documentation and report experience

  • Graduate of WOCN accredited professional education program
