MARITIME SURFACE PLANNER

Summary

You will serve as a MARITIME SURFACE PLANNER of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND. Employee is entitled to 8.64% COLA.

Duties

• You will be identified and sought out as a subject matter expert (SME) on U.S. Naval ship operations (e.g. Surface Warfare operations), weapons and radar systems, countermeasures, etc., to discuss capabilities and limitations.
• You will attend T-JFMCC Fires and Effects Working Groups and subsequently report items or opportunities of interest to the INDOPACOM Joint Fires Center.
• You will support a team comprised of all-domain SMEs from across the Joint Force in the planning of integrated Joint Fires plans supporting command operations.
• You will advise on all aspects of Maritime Surface support to theater integrated fires Joint planning, to include attack coordination, target deconfliction, and command guidance for the maneuver of Maritime Surface forces.
• You will assist in developing integrated Joint fires response options for the National Command Authority during crisis action planning.
• You will provide technical advice and administrative guidance regarding policies, procedures, and problem resolution for Maritime Surface activities.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Experience supporting Joint Fires operations, procedures, processes, and battle rhythm events; 2) Working knowledge of targeting, fires planning, and operational execution within joint or service-level organizations; 3) Familiarity with Combatant Command operations, planning cycles, exercises, deployments, and operational plans; 4) Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple directorates, services, and chains of command to accomplish mission objectives; 5) Experience preparing and delivering briefings, decision papers, recommendations, or analyses for senior leaders; 6) Demonstrated leadership serving on a joint, service, or operational staff, with responsibility for coordinating complex projects or initiatives.
