Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students within the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) . The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students develop the skills necessary for academic success, independence, and participation in school activities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred for services.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals.

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services in educational settings.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, speech therapists, and other team members.

• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and Medicaid billing as required.

• Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding student needs.

• Educate staff and families on strategies to support student success within the classroom and school environment.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, district, and professional practice standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Current California Occupational Therapist License.

• Experience working with pediatric populations.

• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Previous school-based or pediatric therapy experience.

• Experience with IEPs and special education services.

• Knowledge of assistive technology and sensory integration practices.
