Senior Electrical Engineer – Houston

Position Summary Hephae Energy Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team to help us advance our growing Measurement While Drilling (MWD) manufacturing and engineering operations in Spring, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for production support as our product fleet expands, testing and troubleshooting products and developing production test equipment. Some researching and developing Electronics that can withstand high temperatures and extreme shock and vibration will also be required. The ideal candidate should have an Electrical Engineering degree and a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience. Drilling Tools experience and mechanical aptitude preferred.

Company Description Hephae Energy Technology is a next-generation geothermal technology company developing ultra-high temperature robotics, including drilling systems that enable the precise wellbore placement required by the industry. By overcoming the temperature and reliability limits of conventional drilling tools, Hephae is unlocking access to deeper and hotter rock to support the future of firm, sustainable energy. Location Spring, Texas. Relocation is required and will be the responsibility of the successful candidate. Applicants must have valid U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production department in building and repairing existing products
  • Act as an interface between engineering and production in commercialization of new products
  • Develop testing strategies and support equipment to allow new production and repair and maintenance testing to be done more efficiently
  • Develop test equipment for shop and field use
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reliability of Hephae’s products and reduce manufacturing and maintenance costs
  • Design, Develop and Test Electrical/Electronics Hardware for Embedded systems.
  • Design for Analog systems with sensors
  • Troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware issues
  • Develop and implement testing procedures to evaluate electronics performance in high-temperature and Shock and vibration environments
  • Analyze test data and develop reports to communicate findings to other team members and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure Electronics are integrated into drilling equipment designs
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging materials technologies
  • Participate in the product development process from concept to launch with input on design for manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications Required

  • • Electrical Engineering degree and minimum 5 years of job-related experience, preferably developing Electronics for ambient temperatures above 150C
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with product development processes from concept to launch is a plus
  • Experience with CAD for Printed Circuit boards is a plus, preferably Altium designer
  • Background commercializing products and working with production teams is preferred
  • Experience writing firmware in C and C++ software in .NET for test system automation is also a plus
