Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Registered Nurse License

Sentara’s Nurse Residency Program Sentara considers you a new graduate RN if you are about to graduate or have graduated and have less than one year of practice. Qualified students will be graduating or have graduated from an accredited nursing program. All new graduate RNs are automatically enrolled into our Residency Program upon hire. Sentara values our new graduate RNs and we want you to have a strong foundation and a successful first year in your new profession. We know that your first year of nursing practice can be challenging and that is why Sentara provides every new grad the support of our Nursing Residency Program.

This 12-month, immersive program provides guidance from trained preceptors and offers nursing development support, practice-based learning, and networking with peers. Learn from our trained preceptors and experience a supportive, protected environment for questions and concerns. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
