Hourly Range: $21 USD to $25.20 USD

Rate: $21 USD per hour

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Full-Time, Hourly $21.00 – $25.20/hour

About Brightway Living and Learning: For over 65 years, Brightway Living and Learning has been a leading agency providing a full spectrum of care for over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. We are driven by a dedicated team and a deep belief in the potential of every individual.

The Role: Brightway's Maintenance Mechanic maintains buildings and homes for the people Brightway supports in a professional manner. Must have prior experience as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter or landscaper.

What you'll do at Brightway:

  • Maintain buildings and homes in a professional and safe manner

  • Complete work orders and job assignments in a timely and professional manner

  • Interact appropriately and politely with all staff and clients

  • Offer suggestions on how best to maintain buildings and homes

  • Identify and repair all potential safety, maintenance or citation issues

  • Keep appropriate records and receipts

  • On call 24-7 for all agency emergencies

  • Must be available for snow and ice removal

  • Must be flexible to stay late, or come in early or work weekends for projects or agency events as assigned

  • Must be willing to perform all aspects of work in the Maintenance Dept. on an “as needed” basis (mop calls, landscaping, painting, cleaning, etc.)

What you bring to Brightway:

  • Must possess a skill in one of the following trades: carpenter, plumbing, electrical, painting and/or landscaping

  • NYS drivers license and approved to drive Brightway vehicles

What you must be able to do:

  • Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

  • Twist/kneel/bend/squat/pull

  • Stand on minimum 6 ft. ladder

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
