Full job description

Position: Data Migration Assistant

Location: 696 Dutchess Turnpike Poughkeepsie, NY 12603

Classification: Full Time Non-Exempt Hourly - TEMPORARY

Reports to: Practice Manager/Director or Clinical Supervisor

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

THIS IS A 3-6 MONTH TEMPORARY POSITION

Position Summary:

The Data Migration Assistant will support the transition from the legacy EMR system to Athena by accurately entering and transferring patient-related information. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity during the system migration and requires strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and transfer new patient demographic information from legacy EMR into Athena

  • Move newly created appointment data into the new EMR system

  • Work from assigned worklists to manage and track daily tasks

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all entered data

  • Identify and escalate discrepancies or issues as needed

  • Provide end-of-shift updates on completed work and progress

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a High School diploma; Associates Degree preferred.

  • At least one year relevant experience and/or training.

  • EMR experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong Multi-tasking skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.

  • Able to work collectively with administration and staff.

  • Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
