Full job description
Our client, Industrial Controls and Automation is seeking a Automation Specialist II to join their team. As a Automation Specialist II, you will be part of the Engineering and Controls team supporting project delivery from design through commissioning. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving skills, clear communication with customers and stakeholders, and a commitment to documentation and process-driven execution, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Houston, TX or Louisville, KY
Pay Range: $90000 - $100000
What's the Job?

Design control system details end-to-end, including instrumentation configuration, preparation for implementation, implementation, testing, documentation, and training.

Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and support proposal development.

Read and interpret diagrams and documentation, and communicate with customers to understand objectives and preferences.

Develop PLC and HMI solutions, including overall control system architecture, communication strategy, BOMs, IO lists, and control panel requirements.

Lead small projects technically by building PLC and HMI templates, developing test plans and simulation logic, and supporting commissioning and troubleshooting.
What's Needed?
-
4 years of Industrial Controls experience in architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry or a similar field.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Bachelor’s discipline, or a related degree from a Technical College, or equivalent industrial controls experience.

4 years of experience in PLC programming, including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.

Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems, plus familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP).

Experience and knowledge of HMIs, including development and support through testing and startup.
