Job Description

As a member of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Finance Department within the Funding and Program Services Group, this role reports to the Financial Manager in Funding and Program Services. The position supports the Program and Funding Services Team by updating financial reports and performing various transactional tasks. These tasks include master data maintenance, updating Points of Contact for Program Sponsor Reports, maintaining and updating Excel files, utilizing Microsoft 365 platforms to create and distribute monthly sponsor reports, and providing other financial support to the Funding and Program Services Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Financial Manager in collecting, analyzing, and preparing financial reports.

  • Utilize templates and tools to complete financial taskers efficiently.

  • Assist in the process of generating and distributing monthly sponsor reports.

  • Produce financial reports using data warehouse tools.

  • Update and manage Grant validity and budget dates.

  • Update and generate senior leadership presentation slides.

  • Process financial transactions in SAP, including funding, deobligations, TEC, and PoP dates.

  • Contribute to special projects and perform ad hoc analyses as required.

Qualifications - Required

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Business, Finance, or a related field).

  • Entry Level: 0 - 2 years of experience in administrative or financial management roles.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint essential).

  • Familiarity with SAP is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Proven ability to work independently and solve problems.

  • Exceptional customer service orientation.

Selected candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
