Location: Remote, with occasional onsite work at IRS locations

Employment Type: Full-Time

Travel: Occasional travel may be required; approved travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Position Overview

Booker DiMaio is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a technology initiative with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This position will provide day-to-day management and oversight of a technical team supporting technology modernization, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, data warehousing, reporting, dashboards, and analytics.

The Project Manager will serve as a primary point of contact for government stakeholders and will be responsible for coordinating technical workstreams, managing schedules and resources, monitoring project performance, and ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with project requirements.

This is a hands-on project management role that requires someone who can effectively work with both technical teams and senior stakeholders while keeping multiple workstreams moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management and oversight of the project and technical team.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders on project, technical, and administrative matters.

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor project execution across multiple technical workstreams.

  • Manage project schedules, resources, deliverables, risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Coordinate workloads and priorities across application development, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, data warehouse, reporting, and analytics activities.

  • Prepare and present project status reports, executive briefings, and other project communications.

  • Lead project status meetings and coordinate resolution of technical, operational, resource, and schedule issues.

  • Support staffing, quality assurance, documentation, and knowledge-transfer activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing federal government programs or projects.

  • Experience managing technical support, IT modernization, application development, data, or similar technology initiatives.

  • Experience coordinating multiple technical workstreams and teams.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience preparing project status reports and executive-level briefings.

  • Experience managing project schedules, resources, risks, issues, and deliverables.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical personnel and senior government stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating a remote technical team.

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP certification.

  • Experience supporting the IRS or Department of the Treasury.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

  • Experience supporting data analytics, reporting, or data warehouse environments.

  • Experience with government procurement or acquisition environments.

  • Experience managing remote technical teams.

  • Experience with PMBOK-based project management practices.

  • Experience working with technology modernization initiatives in a federal environment.
