Medical Assistant Needed for Busy Multi-Site Healthcare Practice

Location: Primarily Sebastopol, CA (occasional coverage at Guerneville and Occidental locations)

Position Type: 13-Week Contract

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join a busy clinical team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role will primarily support the Sebastopol location, with occasional travel to nearby Guerneville and Occidental clinics as needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a clinical environment, providing high-quality patient care and supporting healthcare providers with back-office medical assistant duties.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Occasional swing shift coverage: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Rotating Saturdays: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform back-office Medical Assistant duties in a clinical setting

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures

  • Obtain and document vital signs and patient information

  • Assist providers during patient visits

  • Administer injections, medications, and treatments as directed

  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record system

  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient care

  • Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance standards

  • Travel occasionally to affiliated clinic locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred

  • Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient healthcare setting

  • Strong patient care and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred

  • Reliable transportation for occasional travel between clinic locations

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent

  • Good telephone communication skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Knowledge of medical procedures

  • Knowledge of clerical functions

  • Current CPR card (if applicable)

  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)

  • Current Health Certificate (if applicable)

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification preferred

  • Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.

  • Relevant certification/ license if applicable.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
