Within RMS SEMS we are seeking a motivated and experienced Software Engineer to support our team. The program enables the warfighter to utilize cutting edge technologies like Software Defined Radios (SDRs), high powered Radio Frequency (RF) Digital Signal Processing (DSP) hardware (HW), and modern DevSecOps to achieve their goals and dominate the RF spectrum. In this important role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals in an Agile scrum development environment. The successful candidate will be flexible, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. They will be able to work and communicate to not only their scrum teams, but also program leadership and both internal and external customers

WHO YOU ARE

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Digital Signal Processing Software Engineer to join our team. Experienced with Digital Signal Processing development, C++ development and integration, Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and Agile/Scrum methodology.

THE WORK

As a Staff Digital Signal Processing Software Engineer you will integrate and test various parts of our system that implement transmitter and receiver designs for diverse mission solutions across a wide array of domains including communications, telecom, electronic, and sensor systems. Enhance waveforms to increase resiliency to real world conditions. algorithm performance/compute efficiency, and probability of detect & decode. Develop, Debug, Test across several C & C++ Code Bases Design & Architect new waveform approaches and logic.

Day to day activities include but not limited to:

  • Participating in daily scrums, bi-weekly sprint planning, release planning, and demonstrations

  • Developing software for interfacing with HW components

  • Integrating open and modular hardware and software compliance in the field of RF systems

*** This position does not require a security clearance to start but will require the candidate to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance ***

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.

  • Experience with a variety of programming languages, primarily C++ and Python and development in a Linux environment Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing concepts.

  • Knowledge of modern DevSecOps tools and practices, including Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, including tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in the RF (Radio Frequency), DSP (Digital Signal Processing), SDR (Software Defined Radio), and CEW (Cyber Electronic Warfare) domains

  • Working knowledge of software-defined radio (SDR) frameworks

  • Experience with GPU / CUDA development

  • Experience with open government standards (MORA, VICTORY, VITA 49)

  • Active TS or TS/SCI Clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible work arrangements and schedules (e.g., 4x10), 401(k) match, Paid time off, Holidays, Parental Leave, EAP, Flexible Spending Accounts, Education Assistance, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
