Job Description

A large entertainment and ticketing company is seeking a Principal Software Engineer / Team Lead to provide technical leadership for its Identity Services organization. This is a true player-coach role where the individual will spend approximately 70% of their time driving identity engineering initiatives and developing software solutions, while spending 30% leading and mentoring a team of 4 engineers. This person will serve as the technical authority for the team, owning architecture, roadmap development, automation strategy, and the modernization of identity-related services. The team is focused on reducing operational toil through software development, self-service capabilities, and automation across the identity ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a Principal Engineer at heart with deep Identity & Access Management expertise who still enjoys being hands-on with code and solution delivery. The initial priority would be to evaluate the team’s current backlog of technical debt and then identifying solutions to improve scalability and efficiency.

  • 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering experience with Python or Go.

  • Strong Identity & Access Management (IAM) background, including: o Okta (advanced administration/configuration) o Active Directory o Privileged Access Management (PAM) o MFA technologies

  • Strong technical leadership experience through mentoring, architecture ownership, or team leadership.

  • Demonstrated ownership of technical solutions from design through production deployment.

  • Experience building internal tools, automation frameworks, APIs, or self-service platforms.

  • Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform.
