Job Summary:
The Strategic Supply Chain Manager oversees end‑to‑end procurement and supply chain activities for one or more business units or large projects, ensuring materials, subcontractors, and services are delivered on time, at the right quality and cost to support project delivery while embedding a project‑focused procurement team within operating units and providing coaching, performance management, and professional development to buyers, coordinators, and category specialists. This role sets category strategies, leverages scale and supplier relationships to drive value and cost savings, coordinates with central procurement to implement best practices and The Skanska Way, and champions sustainable and ethical procurement practices to reduce costs and support Skanska’s sustainability goals. The Manager develops and recommends procurement strategies, metrics, and plans to improve estimating during SD, DD, CD and GMP phases, interprets plans, specs and 3D models to assess scope and create quantity take‑offs, and implements process and workflow improvements (including Quick Base applications) to increase efficiency and transparency. They manage key supplier relationships and prequalification/contract arrangements, serve as the primary escalation interface for critical OEM issues, lead executive business reviews with strategic OEMs, and use supplier performance data and relationship trackers to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation. Operationally, the Manager leverages manufacturers’ competitive pricing and strategic partner collaboration to create precise construction estimates, solicit competitive bids, optimize logistics with commercial transport teams to reduce site delays, control spending with finance, and maintain accurate supplier records in corporate systems. The role requires maintaining clear accountabilities and reporting lines, supporting Preconstruction Leads through regular coordination and QuickBase updates, developing expertise in Building Connected. In addition, the Manager will support national business development and client engagements by presenting strategic supply chain as a consultative value‑add, participating in early client interactions, proposals and interviews where supply chain is a project consideration to monitor estimating and bidding, and communicating the Strategic Supply Chain Program’s value to local project teams to increase adoption and impact. Strategic Supply Chain Manager Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in progressive procurement/supply-chain

3+ years of experience developing and executing sourcing strategies and managing strategic supplier partnerships

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 7 years prior relevant experience.
