Full job description

FASTSIGNS #31901 is looking for a strong, hands-on Production Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day production operation.

We need a leader who understands the whole picture—people, schedules, materials, equipment, quality, deadlines, workflow, and profitability. This person will keep projects moving, lead the production team, solve problems quickly, and create accountability throughout the department.

This is not a sit-behind-a-desk position, but it is also not a role for someone who wants to do everyone's work. We need someone who knows how to lead, delegate, prioritize, make decisions, and hold a team accountable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily production operations and workflow

  • Own production schedules, priorities, and deadlines

  • Assign workloads and manage team capacity

  • Lead, coach, train, and hold production employees accountable

  • Identify delays, bottlenecks, and problems before they impact deadlines

  • Maintain strong quality-control standards

  • Order materials, manage inventory needs, source/research new materials

  • Coordinate shipping, deliveries, and outgoing completed projects

  • Oversee equipment maintenance and production needs

  • Maintain safety standards and an organized work environment

  • Lead production/WIP meetings and communicate priorities

  • Track labor efficiency, material usage, job costing, and department KPIs

  • Develop and improve SOPs, systems, and production processes

  • Work closely with sales, design, project management, and leadership to keep projects moving

  • Help build a production department that is organized, efficient, accountable, and profitable

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of management or production leadership experience

  • Sign-industry experience strongly preferred with skills in Adobe, Onyx, Flexi, and standard sign manufacturing equipment

  • Strong people-management and leadership skills

  • Proven ability to hold employees accountable and address performance issues

  • Excellent organization, scheduling, and communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities

  • Understanding of production workflow, materials, quality, labor, and job costing

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to delegate and lead rather than becoming the bottleneck

The Right Person We are looking for someone who takes ownership. You should know what is due, what is behind, what is at risk, and what needs attention without waiting for someone else to tell you.

You communicate clearly, make decisions, set expectations, follow through, and address problems when they happen. You understand that successful production isn't simply getting jobs completed—it's getting them completed correctly, ahead of time, efficiently, and profitably.

If you're an experienced production leader who wants the opportunity to take ownership of a department, develop a strong team, improve systems, and help a growing company scale, we'd like to talk with you.
