We are looking for a Project Engineer - Electrical, LV Switchgear/LVMCC Engineering. This position will be based at Wendell, North Carolina.

The Project Engineer develops technically sound, cost-effective low-voltage switchgear and low-voltage motor control center (LVMCC) solutions that align with customer specifications, project requirements, applicable standards, and engineering guidelines. You will partner with customers and cross-functional project teams to move designs from technical review through manufacturing, testing, commissioning support, and final documentation.

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Lead the engineering design and development of low-voltage switchgear and LVMCC solutions in accordance with customer specifications, project requirements, applicable standards, and engineering guidelines.

  • Analyze customer specifications, single-line diagrams, datasheets, and contractual documents to define scope, technical requirements, engineering deliverables, and cost-effective solutions.

  • Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, system architecture, component selections, panel arrangements, communication drawings, three-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and manufacturing documentation using electrical and 2D design tools.

  • Perform electrical engineering calculations and studies, including fault current analysis, busbar sizing, load assessment, voltage drop evaluation, equipment rating verification, and protection coordination.

  • Define protection and control schemes, relay logic, interlocks, and LVMCC applications involving RVSS, variable frequency drives, switching starters, intelligent devices, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Collaborate with proposal, application engineering, project management, procurement, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and customers to support bid reviews, design reviews, technical clarifications, issue resolution, and corrective actions.

  • Ensure deliverable quality and compliance with NEMA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, NEC, IEC, and customer requirements; prepare closeout documentation, mentor engineering partners, and advance standardization and continuous improvement.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. An advanced degree may be substituted for four years of experience.

  • 3+ years of engineering experience with the following:

  • Design and application of electrical power distribution products, low-voltage switchgear, LVMCCs, control panels, or related power delivery systems in an EPC, engineering, manufacturing, utility, or industrial environment.

  • Electrical and 2D layout tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, or Visio, plus Microsoft Office and product configuration or pricing applications.

  • Protection and control schemes, electrical schematics, communication network diagrams, RVSS, variable frequency drives, switching starters, intelligent devices, and LVMCC auxiliary equipment.

  • Interpreting customer technical documentation and selecting solutions that meet customer, schedule, cost, quality, and profitability requirements.

  • Cross-functional collaboration, technical communication, leadership, decision-making, customer service, and prioritization of multiple simultaneous tasks; working knowledge of business planning and project and product lifecycle processes.

  • Ability to travel less than 10%.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating, converting, and modifying electrical drawings in AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base.

  • Experience with Engineering Base software.

  • Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for low-voltage switchgear and LVMCC equipment.
