Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

This consultant will provide immediate support for a Windows infrastructure backfill assignment focused on vulnerability remediation, operating system patching, application deployment, and cloud infrastructure operations. Daily responsibilities include managing AWS EC2 environments, maintaining Infrastructure as Code through Terraform, building and supporting CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, and utilizing Ansible, Packer, and Python to automate deployments and create standardized machine images. The engineer will also partner with globally distributed teams across the US, Europe, and India while identifying opportunities to leverage AI-powered tools and agents to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and streamline infrastructure management. The ideal candidate can step into the environment quickly and begin contributing with minimal onboarding or supervision.

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer

• Experience managing and maintaining Windows Server environments, including OS patching and application deployments

• Strong AWS experience, including EC2 administration and cloud infrastructure management

• Hands-on Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

• Strong Python scripting experience – to support infrastructure automation

• Experience with Ansible and Packer for automation, image creation, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning

• Experience working with YAML-based configuration and deployment frameworks

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently

• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and agents (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Codex, etc.)

• Experience in healthcare, publishing, or enterprise software environments
