The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Executive Support Specialist to facilitate tasks and provide administrative support to the HAF AF/A1C Directorate, Civilian Force Management.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and oversees workflow management for the Directorate of Civilian Force Management, proactively identifying and recommending process improvements. Reporting directly to the Senior Executive Service (SES) Director and SES Deputy Director, the incumbent serves as the primary point of contact for all staffing actions across the entire directorate. Provides comprehensive executive support to the Director, Deputy Director, and the broader directorate. Because this role involves direct, immediate support to senior executives and the management of daily office operations, it requires physical, on-site presence at the traditional duty station. Regular remote or telework is not authorized. Effectively communicates complex information, concepts, and ideas in a confident, well-organized manner. Expertly utilizes standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint) to successfully accomplish administrative, tracking, and workflow duties. Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Example of specialized experience includes: (1) Performing a combination of routine, multiple, and varying assignments, to include special projects, to contribute to organizational operations; (2) Researching relevant laws, regulations, and policies and developing appropriate historical information relating to program accomplishment; (3) Providing in-depth information regarding workflow, task, and calendar management, staff action expertise, and process continuity; (4) Examining administrative operations to identify and implement best practices. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Possesses full range of general management and administrative principles, practices, methods, and techniques and skills for use in applying knowledge to simple and complex work assignments. 2. Knowledge and skill in the application of Air Force workflow and task management directives, instructions, policies, procedures, and guidance. 3. Knowledge of Headquarters Air Force missions and functions. 4. Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally. 5. Ability to prepare and present information to senior leadership. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 6. Ability to coordinate diverse planning efforts and to make instant decisions and select a course of action in a fast-paced environment. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
